Tarzan actor Joe Lara ventures into Iranian revolution
TEHRAN, Jan. 10 (MNA) -- U.S. actor Joe Lara, who is mostly known for his role in the “Tarzan” TV series, is coming to Iran in late February to complete his acting in the Iranian film “Searching for Christ”.

“About 20 percent of the film, which is about Christ’s family and relatives, has been taken in the United States,” director Abbas Rafeii told the Persian service of the Fars News Agency on Saturday.

“Joe Lara will be coming to play in other sequences of the film in Iran,” he added.

Shooting will resume two weeks after his arrival to allow some time to become acclimated to his Iranian environs, he explained.

Most of the film is set in Iran during the last days of the shah’s regime in 1979.

The film is about Christ, an American correspondent who is in Iran to cover the unrest of the time.

One day, while covering a demonstration, he falls down and is injured. He is transferred to a hospital, but the U.S. media reports that Christ has been killed.

Christ announces to his family and friends that he is alive and in good health. However, the U.S. media claims that the person making the announcements is an imposter, insisting that the real Christ has been killed.
